Record 153 Corona deaths in a single day

Bangladesh has recorded 153 Corona deaths and 8,661 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 15,065 and  the total number of people infected with the virus is 9,44,917, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 28.99 percent.

The recovery count rose to 8,33,897 after another 4,698 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past one day.

The DGHS statistics showed of the people infected from the beginning 88.25 percent recovered, while 1.59 percent died.

In the past 24 hours, the combined figure of coronavirus in Dhaka city and upazilas of Dhaka district is 2,943 while as of Sunday, 5,31,216 out of 9,44,917 were detected alone in Dhaka district including the capital.
