Barisal councilor Manna arrested, says RAB

RAB has arrested Sheikh Syed Ahmed Manna, councilor of Barisal City Corporation and organizing secretary of Mahanagar Awami League.

The information was given in an SMS sent to the mobile by the RAB on Saturday afternoon.

It is said that Sheikh Syed Ahmed Manna has been arrested from Mohammadpur in the capital in connection with the clash between the police and the Awami League in the residence area of Barisal Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO).

Kotwali Model Police filed a case in connection with a clash between police and Awami League at the residence of Barisal Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) on Wednesday night. The second accused in that case is Sheikh Syed Ahmed Manna.

Earlier, Manna was taken away by white-clad law enforcers from her sister's house in the capital's Mohammadpur area around 9:45 pm on Friday, his elder brother Sheikh Masud Ahmed Rana, a former BCL leader, alleged.
