No more mass vaccination: Health Minister

Health Minister Zahid Maleque said that mass Covid-19 vaccination campaigns will not be conducted in the country any more although he earlier said that special mass vaccination campaigns will be run from time to time.

After a Cabinet meeting at the Secretariat he told journalists that vaccines will be given only to those registered with the Surokkha app in the coming days.

The long queues for vaccine were seen although the government did not want overcrowding which is unhealthy, he said.

Zahid said all the vaccines -- whether from US or China -- are effective.

He also said that on-the-spot registration for vaccine will not be offered anymore.
