Pori Moni gets permanent bail in drug case

Actress Pori Moni has been granted permanent bail in a drug case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Sikder granted permanent bail after hearing the petition filed by Pori Moni on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Pori Moni appeared before the court around 2:30 pm and applied for extension of bail.

Pori Moni's lawyer Nilanjana Rifat Survi told the media that the court, on August 31, granted bail to Pori Moni in the case. However, the condition was that if the chargesheet of the case was submitted, a new bail application would have to be placed. CID Inspector of Police Kazi Mostafa Kamal filed a chargesheet in the case on October 4. Ashraful Islam Dipu and Kabir Hawladar, associates of Pori Moni, were accused in the chargesheet.

In the case, the court, on September 28, ordered to return the 18 seized items, including Pori Moni's car.
