Fire at Mugda Hospital, at least 10 burnt

At least 10 people have been burnt in a fire at Mugda Medical College Hospital in the capital.

The fire started around 12 noon on Thursday and brought under control around 1 pm.

Khandaker Tawfiq, the hospital's director's personal officer, said an ICU on the sixth floor of the hospital suddenly exploded and caught fire. 

Enayet Hossain, an officer of the fire service control room, said on information, fire service personnel of seven units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.

It is learned that no patient was present at the time of the accident. The hospital staff was doing the cleaning work then.
