India's tourist visa resumes on Nov 15

Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Vikram Doraiswamy said tourist visas would be introduced from November 15 for those interested in going to India.

He said this while talking to reporters at Akhaura land port on Tuesday

He went to his home country by road from Dhaka via Akhaura.

Vikram Doraiswamy said, “Single entry tourist visa will be introduced first. Tourist can only go by plane. According to the validity of the visa can not stay more than 30 days. Visa system will be introduced by land and rail in phases.”

He also spoke about the complexities involved in the construction of the Akhaura Immigration Building near the border between the two countries.
