4,000 vacancies for teachers in public universities

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said there are 4,150 vacancies for teachers in 46 public universities across the country.

The minister made the disclosure in response to a question raised by Didarul Alam, MP of Chittagong-4 constituency, during a question and answer session of the 15th session of the 11th Parliament on Monday.

According to the information given by the Minister of Education, there are 1 lakh 93 thousand 358 male students and 1 lakh 4 thousand 599 female students out of 2 lakh 97 thousand 957 students in 57 universities. 

“Now 15 thousand 293 teachers are teaching the students in the universities. However, some 4,150 posts for teachers are vacant in 46 public universities,” she added.
