Mother, son burnt to death in Mugda gas fire

A mother and her son have succumbed to burn injuries in a gas fire at a house in the capital's Mugda. 

The deceased were identified as Priyanka and her son Arup, said Dhaka Medical Police Camp in-charge (inspector) Bachchu Mia on Tuesday morning.

Referring to the doctor, he said that the child died at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery around 11 pm on Monday and his mother Priyanka died at around 3 am.

Priyanka's husband Sudhanshu and her mother Shefali Rani, who sustained burn injuries, are still undergoing treatment. Their condition is also alarming.

Four people of the same family were burnt when the stove in the kitchen was lit on Monday morning, the gas caught 

It burned 55 percent of Shefali's body, 30 percent of Priyanka's, 35 percent of Sudhanshu's and 5 percent of Arup's.
