Five people have died in a late-night fire at a shoe factory in the capital's Soarighat area on Thursday.
Rashed bin Khalid, a duty officer in the control room of the Fire Service and Civil Defense, confirmed the deaths of five people on Friday morning.
He said a fire broke out at a shoe factory in Soarighat area around 1.15am on Friday. Eight units of the fire service went to the spot and brought the fire under control at around 3 am.
He added that rescue work is still going on at the spot.
