Commuters suffer much on the way due to extra fair

The strike by road transport owners and workers continued for the third day in a row on Sunday demanding withdrawal of higher prices of diesel and kerosene or increase in fares. 

Office-going people are also in extreme distress this morning as public traffic is closed and commuters were seen standing on different roads of the capital without getting a bus. 

Occasionally, one or two BRTC buses are seen plying on the roads, but people are getting into them. Apart from this, there have been allegations of hire renting CNG-powered auto-rickshaws, rickshaws or Laguna several times more on the roads of the capital. 

Some people are helpless and are taking risks to board on vans and covered vans to reach their workplaces and destinations.

Meanwhile, despite the closure of public transport, traffic jams have been observed on various roads in the capital. 

The pressure of rickshaws, CNG, motorcycles and private cars is high.

It has been observed that there is more presence of people on the roads of the capital on Sunday than on Friday-Saturday. 

Hundreds of people were seen waiting for public transports at various important bus stands and intersections in the capital.
