Hanging body of JnU student recovered from Hatirjheel residence

Police have recovered the hanging body of Mohammad Mehebullah Tousif, 21, a student of Jagannath University, from the house of Mahanagar Project in Hatirjheel area of the capital.

Miraj, the elder brother of the deceased, said the body was recovered around 11:30 pm on Tuesday and sent to Dhaka Medical College Morgue for autopsy.

However, he could not say why he committed suicide.

Tousif had tried to commit suicide once before, he said adding that his brother did not share anything with anyone.

The cause of death could not be ascertained, said Hatirjheel police SI Nazrul Islam, adding that the matter can be commented on after receiving the autopsy report.
