Booster doses will also be given to those over 50 years of age: Health Minister

Health Minister Zahid Malek said from now on, booster doses would also be given to people over the age of 50.

Seven lakh booster doses of Corona vaccine have already been given across the country so far, he told reporters at the secretariat on Monday afternoon.

The health minister said, “Infections are on the rise in the country due to corona’s omicron and delta types. If this continues, the infection rate is likely to exceed 30 percent and consequently, there will be no place in the hospital in a month and a half.”

According to the agreement, the Russian vaccine has not been received yet, said Zahid Malek adding that communication is going on in this regard.

Meanwhile, in this Corona situation, Abul Bashar Mohammad (ABM) Khurshid Alam, the Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services, has called a press conference to be held at 3:30 pm on Monday.
