3 members of same family die in a fire in Turag

Three members of the same family died in a house fire in Chandalbhogh area of Turag around 4:30 am on Tuesday.

Turag police officer in charge (OC) Mehedi Hasan told The Daily Samakal that the deceased were identified as Jahangir, 19, Roma Akhter, 17, and Afrin, 14.

According to local sources, the fire started from the electricity pole first and it then spread to the tin-shed room next door, burning three members of the same family to dead while sleeping.

Upon receiving the news, three units of Uttara Fire Station rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control at 5.40 am.
