Status quo for the post of Gen Secy of Artists' Association

The Chamber Judge of the of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has issued the status quo for the post of General Secretary of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association.

The court issued the order so that neither Zayed Khan nor Nipun Akter could hold the post.

Chamber Judge Justice Obaidul Hasan passed the order after hearing both sides on Wednesday. At the same time, the court also stayed the High Court order passed earlier in favour of Zayed Khan.

The next hearing of the case has been fixed for February 13 in the regular bench of the Appellate Division. 

Senior lawyers Barrister Rokon Uddin Mahmud and Mostafizur Rahman took part in the hearing on behalf of Nipun.

On the other hand, lawyers Ehsanul Karim and Nahida Sultana Yuthi took part in the hearing on behalf of Zayed Khan.
