Search committee meets with eminent persons

The meeting of the search committee has started with the noted personalities for the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and other election commissioners.

The meeting started at 11:20 am on Saturday in the Judges’ Lounge of the Bangladesh Supreme Court building.

In the first phase, the search committee formed by the President invited 20 prominent citizens to Saturday's meeting.

According to the law, the search committee has been given 15 days till the 24th of February to finalize the recommendation for the formation of the Election Commission.

The committee is working in accordance with the law to find qualified CEC and election commissioners for this constitutional body.
