ACC officials form human chain in protesting colleague's termination

Officials from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) formed a human chain in front of the ACC headquarters on Thursday to protest the termination of its Deputy Assistant Director Sharif Uddin.

Earlier in the day, they placed a memorandum to the ACC secretary Mahbub Hossain.

They also demanded cancellation of a provision that allows stand-release of ACC employees.

On Wednesday, the Anti-Corruption Commission released Sharif Uddin under section 54 (2) of the ACC (staff) rules, 2008.

Reasons behind his termination could not be known immediately.

They claimed that he was transferred to Patuakhali after 52 cases were filed in Chittagong alleging various irregularities against different offices and hospitals.
