DGDA orders collection of Napa syrup samples for lab test

The Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) has ordered all divisional and district officials to collect samples of a pharmaceutical company's Napa syrup from the market and deliver them to a lab for testing.

The order was issued in response to the deaths of two children in Ashuganj upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Thursday night.

According to the circular signed by Major General Mohammad Yousuf, director general of the DGDA, all authorities involved have been asked to collect syrup samples from all retail and wholesale markets and send them to the National Control Laboratory at the DGDA headquarters in Dhaka.

Meanwhile, the DGDA has prohibited the sale of Napa syrup from the batch in the Brahmanbaria district.
