No online sales of rail tickets from March 21 to 25

Bangladesh Railway's online ticketing will be suspended for five days, beginning March 21, to allow for a smooth transition from the present vendor to the new one.

People will be able to purchase 100% tickets from counters at train stations for the next five days.

The information was revealed on Monday at a news conference held at Rail Bhaban in Dhaka with Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan in the chair.

Currently, 50% of tickets are sold online, with the remainder sold at the counter.

For the next five years, the railway has hired a joint venture run by Shohoz, Bangladesh's largest online ticket destination, to conduct online ticking services.

From the early hours of March 26, Shohoz will go in operation.
