Mother, not Napa, kills two children feeding poisoned sweets

The two toddlers who were allegedly died in Brahmanbaria after consuming Napa syrup were actually murdered by their mother following an adulterous affair.

Lima Begum, a mother from Ashuganj in Brahmanbaria, has been arrested, according to Assistant Superintendent of Police Mollah Mohammad Shahin.

Lima Begum and her lover Shafiullah were charged by the children's father, Ismail Hossain Khan.

Ismail previously worked in a brick kiln. According to the ASP Mollah Mohammad Shahin, Lima used to work at a rice mill when she met Shafiullah; they fell in love and intended to marry.

He went on to say that the mother, Lima Begum, killed the two infants, Yasin and Morsalin, by feeding them poisoned sweets as part of the pre-planned scheme.

She claimed they died after consuming Napa syrup to divert the investigation in a new path.

Two children died after consuming Napa syrup, prompting the formation of a probe body.

"Police, on the other hand, were skeptical of her behavior from the start. She confessed to the murder after extensive questioning ", Md Shahin stated.

Police are also attempting to arrest her lover, Shafiullah, according to the ASP.

The parents of two children named Yasin Khan, 7, and Morsalin Khan, 5, who died on the night of March 10 in Durgapur village, said that they died after ingesting Napa syrup.
