Traffic is normal in New Market area, shops not open

After a clash between Dhaka College students and New Market vendors in the capital on Tuesday, the atmosphere is calm on Wednesday. Since the morning, the New Market area has been quiet, and traffic has returned to normalcy. For security reasons, a lot of cops were deployed in the area. However, shops were not opened in the market.

After a clash on Monday night, clashes erupted in the New Market area on Tuesday morning and continued till night.  Nahid Hossain, a 20-year-old pedestrian who was hurt in the incident, died Tuesday night while receiving treatment. The clashes resulted in numerous injuries.
