Two killed in an explosion at an illegal fireworks factory

Two women were killed in an explosion at a house in Bashati village of Nandail in Mymensingh on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Afila Khatun, 45, wife of Abdul Gani and Nasima, 30, wife of Abul.

It is learned that illegal fireworks were made in that house, owned by Borhan Uddin.

Locals said, “The bricks on the walls of the house collapsed in the blast. The rooftop tin of the house has flown away. The bodies of two women working there were torn apart.”

On information, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and recovered two bodies from the spot.

The occupants of the house fled after the blast, sources said.

However, the people of the house have claimed that the incident took place due to lightning.
