Evaly MD Russell granted bail in 9 cases

E-commerce Company Evaly CEO Russell has been granted bail in nine cases of check fraud.

He was granted bail by a separate order from the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Russell's lawyer Ahsan Habib confirmed the bail and told the media that Russell has been granted bail in nine cases. However, he could not be released from jail as he has been arrested in more cases.

On September 15 last year, a customer named Arif Baker brought allegations of fraud and embezzlement to the Gulshan police station and filed a lawsuit against Russell and his wife Shamima Nasrin. 

The next afternoon, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested them from their home on Sir Syed Road in Mohammadpur in the city.

Shamima Nasreen is currently out of jail on bail.
