Recently outgoing chairmen are administrators of district council

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister Tajul Islam on Wednesday said that the recently outgoing chairmen are being appointed as administrators of district councils across the country. 

This information has been confirmed by the Public Relations Department of the LGRD Ministry.

 The LGRD minister told reporters, “The recent former chairman of the district council will be the administrator of the district council. Today we have issued a notification. Their responsibilities will start from today. However, their term as administrators will not be more than six months.”

As the term of 61 district councils of the country has expired, the government issued a circular on April 17 dissolving the councils. Until the appointment of administrators in these councils, the chief executive officers of the councils have been given the power to manage the administrative and financial activities.
