Constable who harassed teacher for wearing teep identified

A police constable who harassed a Tejgaon College teacher for wearing a teep on her forehead was identified.
DMP Commissioner Shafiqul Islam confirmed it to The Daily Samakal on Monday. He said that disciplinary action will be taken against him.
The constable was identified as Nazmul Tareque, police sources said.
The DMP commissioner said that the GD made by the teacher will also be properly investigated.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station Utpal Barua said Constable Nazmul Tareque was working in the protection department of the police.
Earlier, Lata Samaddar, a lecturer in the Department of Theater and Media Studies at Dhaka's Tejgaon College, filed a general diary (GD) with the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station on Saturday alleging that she was harassed by the police.
The GD also charged a man dressed as a police officer with "eve-teasing" and "attempted murder".
