Admission tests of 32 public universities to be held in cluster system

This time, admission test in the first year of graduation (honors) in 32 public universities of the country will be held in three cluster groups.

Of these, three new universities are being included in the cluster admission process for the first time. 

The universities are Kishoreganj University of Science and Technology, Chandpur University of Science and Technology and Habiganj Agricultural University.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Grants Commission (UGC) with the vice-chancellors of the universities on Thursday.

The UGC has recommended to the universities outside the cluster meeting to publish the schedule of admission test, to hold admission test and publish results and time of admission.

Apart from this, the UGC has suggested to reduce admission test fees and the number of seats which are vacant in the public universities.

The meeting was chaired by UGC chairman (routine duties) Dil Afroza Begum.

Commission members Muhammad Alamgir, Biswajit Chand, Md. Abu Taher, Secretary of the Commission Ferres Zaman, Director of Public University Management Department Mohammad Zaminur Rahman and others were present on the occasion.

The meeting was attended by the Vice Chancellors of 36 universities and their nominated representatives.
