15,000 liters of soybean oil seized from warehouse

Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection (DNCRP) has seized 15,000 liters of soybean oil from a shop's warehouse at around 12 noon on Monday in a raid on Billi Lane in Pahartali Bazar, Chittagong.

During the raid, Fayez Ullah, deputy director of the Chittagong divisional office of the DNCRP, told reporters that the shop owner Siraj Saudargar had left the oil in the warehouse but there was no oil in the shop.

He said he had stored at least 15,000 liters of oil in a total of 1,050 cartons. He will be fined according to the law, the official said.

Earlier on Sunday, the DNCRP found 1,000 liters of oil in the warehouse below the store of Khwaja Store in Karnafuli Complex at Gate No. 2 of the city. These oils were later sold to nearby shops and buyers at exorbitant prices.
