Terrible fire at Hawkers Market in Sylhet doused

A fire broke out at the Hawkers Market in Laldighi, Sylhet at around 3.15 am on Monday.

On information, 16 units of the fire service in and around Sylhet rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after about two and a half hours of frantic efforts.

Assistant Director of Fire Service Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan told reporters that some 20 to 25 out of 1,035 shops in the market were damaged in the fire.

However, the extent of the damage and the cause behind the onset of the fire were not immediately known.
