Pradeep's wife surrenders to court

Chumki, wife of former Teknaf OC Pradeep Kumar Das, has surrendered to court in an illegal assets case. She appeared in the Chittagong Divisional Special Judge's Court on Monday and applied for bail.

Judge Munshi Abdul Majid denied the allegations and ordered her to be sent to jail.

The court ordered to start the trial of Pradeep and Chumki on December 15 last year by framing charges in the case filed by the ACC.  The case is currently under testimony.

Pradeep, who was sentenced to death in the retired Major Sinha Rashed Khan murder case, is currently in jail. His wife had been a fugitive for long time.
