Pedestrian killed as metro rail block falls on him

A pedestrian was killed when a block fell from a under construction metro rail line at Mirpur 11 in the capital around 12 noon on Monday.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Pallabi Police Station Parvez Islam told The Daily Samakal that the deceased was identified as Mahbubur Rahman.

Police have not yet revealed his age and occupation.

OC Parvez said arrangements were being made to recover the body and send it to the morgue of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in the city’s Agargaon.
