Benazir president, Azam gen secy of Shariatpur Journalists' Association

The Shariatpur Journalists' Association in Dhaka has elected Benazir Ahmed (BanglaVision) and Asaduzzaman Azam (Amar Sangbad) as President and General Secretary respectively, for the tenure of 2022-23.

The committee was unveiled on Friday at a restaurant in the capital's Segunbagicha during its bi-annual general meeting.

AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem, the Deputy Minister for Water Resources, was the chief guest on the occasion.

Other officer bearers are: Vice President - Rozina Islam (Prothom Alo), Office Secretary - Mahmudul Hasan (Amar Sangbad), Social Welfare Affairs Secretary - Khalilur Rahman Jewel (ATN Bangla), Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary - Zafar Ahmed (Daily Bangladesh), Sports and Cultural Affairs Secretary - Rajibul Islam (Nagorik Television), Legal Affairs Secretary - Amrul Hasan Bappi (The Daily Star) and Women Affairs Secretary - Zakia Ahmed (Dainik Bangla).  

Besides, Mozammel Haque Chanchal (Daily Jugantar), Abdus Salam (Prothom Alo), Mohsin Bepari (Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha-BSS), Ataur Rahman (Dainik Samakal), Habibur Rahman Palash (Dainik Desh Rupantar) and Mohiuddin Tushar (Dainik Ganamukti) have been elected as executive committee members.
