Two killed in Bogura road accident

A head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-powered autorickshaw in the Omarpur bus terminal area of the district's Nandigram municipal killed two people and injured three more on Monday.

Abdul Khaleq, 65, son of late Jasim Uddin, of Kusta village in Nandigram upazila, and Md Bablu Mia, 50, son of Azimuddin of Kasupia village in Singra upazila in Natore district, were named as the deceased.

The accident occurred when a CNG-run autorickshaw carrying passengers going to Nandigram from Ranbagha when reached Omarpur bus stand and collided head-on with a Natore-bound truck coming from opposite direction this noon, leaving two passengers dead on the spot and three others injured seriously.

The injured were sent to a hospital here, Nandigram Police Station sub-inspector (SI) Tariqul Islam told BSS.

The bodies were handed over to the family members. The vehicles were seized, the SI added.
