CUET declared closed

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has been declared closed due to clashes between two factions of the Bangladesh Chatra League (BCL).

A statement signed by CUET Registrar Professor Faruk-uz-Zaman Chowdhury said that in view of the ongoing tense situation, academic activities and residential halls have been declared closed from Tuesday (June 14) to July 5.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the university's vice-chancellor, dean, institute director, registrar, department head, provost and director of student welfare, the statement said.

A tense situation is prevailing on the campus following the clashes.
