232 new COVID cases, highest in 13 weeks

Bangladesh has recorded 232 COVID-19 cases in a single day, the highest daily total since March 17, bringing the total number of infections to 1,954,637.

According to the most recent government data issued on Wednesday, no additional fatalities were recorded in the 24-hour tally, keeping the disease's death toll at 29,131.

A total of 5,986 samples were examined across the country, yielding a 3.88 percent positive result.

Dhaka, with 219 infections, has the highest number of cases among the eight divisions.
