BFUJ demands 60pc interim allowances for journalists

Leaders of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) demanded 60 percent interim allowances for journalists to enable them cope with financial hardships caused by price increases in daily essential items.

The demand was made by the leaders of the apex body of the journalism community while speaking at a human-chain-cum-rally in Rajshahi on Saturday.

Prior to the apex body's executive committee meeting, the BFUJ arranged an event at Kadirganj crossing in collaboration with the Rajshahi Union of Journalists (RUJ) to press home eight-point demands.
