Ashulia teacher killing: Prime suspect Jitu arrested

The main suspect in the murder of Ashulia teacher Utpal Kumar Sarkar was arrested on Wednesday by the Rapid Action Battalion in the Sreepur neighborhood of Gazipur. The accused student beat Utpal with a cricket stump who later succumbed to death at Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar.

Khandaker Al Moin, director of Rab's Legal and Media Wing, verified the development.

Since the attack on Saturday, the arrested person, Ashraful Ahsan Jitu, a pupil in class 10 at the Haji Yunus Ali School and College in Ashulia, has been evading arrest.
