8-km tailback on Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge Highway

A 8-km traffic jam was created on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge Highway on Thursday noon, causing the Eid-ul-Azha holiday travelers much misery.

The elderly, pregnant women, and young children who were confined to their homes, as well as toll collection on both sides of the bridge, suffered as a result of the repeated delays.

Police officers and volunteers have been working to clear the jam on the highway, which is primarily due to the increased traffic and the movement of unsafe automobiles.

To reduce congestion, one-way traffic is presently employed on the two-lane road from Elenga to the Bangabandhu Bridge.
