5 held over sexual harassment at CU

RAB-7 has arrested five people, including Azim, the mastermind of the incident of sexually assaulting a student of Chittagong University (CU). 

In the briefing, Commander of Chandgaon Camp RAB Lt. Col. MA Yusuf said that Azim admitted to the harassment of the student during the interrogation.

Fire arrestees are - Md. Azim, Nur Hossain Shawon, Nurul Abshar Babu, Mehdi Hasan Hriday, Masud Rana. Among them, Mehdi, Azim and Nurul Abshar Babu are students of Chittagong University and workers of Chhatra League.

Besides, Shaon is a 1st year student of Sociology Department at Hathajari College and Masud is a 2nd year graduate student of Hathajari College

RAB raided various areas of Raujan and Hathazari upazilas on Friday night and arrested them.

A female student was sexually assaulted and beaten up by five youths at 9:30 pm on July 17. Five youths tied up the student in the botanical garden area of the university and recorded the video on the mobile phone.
