Bus owners to sit with BRTA in afternoon to re-fix fare

A government body will sit Saturday afternoon to re-fix bus fare as the fuel prices were hiked by up to 50 percent on Friday night.

The meeting will begin at 5pm at Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) headquarters at Banani in the capital.

Road Transport and Highways Department Secretary ABM Amin Ullah Noori will also be present in the meeting.

In view of the decision in the meeting, the fare may be increased in coordination with the price of fuel oil.

The announcement of increased fares may come tonight.
