All children aged 5 to 11 to be vaccinated: Health Minister

Al the 220,00,000 children of Bangladesh aged between 5 and 11 will get the Coronavirus vaccinations.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said this in response to questions from journalists after a discussion meeting and prayer meeting on the occasion of the National Mourning Day at the National Cancer Research Institute and Hospital in Mohakhali in the capital on Monday.

The minister said that the vaccination program for children was inaugurated on August 11 and the vaccination program will be conducted in full swing from the August 25. 

All measures have been taken in this regard, he said.

Stating that the children cannot take vaccination without registration, the minister said, “Only those who have registered can take vaccination. The registration process is ongoing, but has been asked to be completed soon. The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education is working on these issues.”

The minister said that the children will be first vaccinated in the schools of the city corporation areas.
