5 to die for Ctg naval base bomb attack

Five Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terrorists have been given the death punishment by a Chattogram court for the 2015 mosque bombing at the Bangladesh Navy's Issa Khan Base.

Abdul Mannan, Ramjan Ali, Bablu Rahman, Abdul Gaffar, and M. Sakhawat Hossain are the prisoners on execution row.

Judge Abdul Halim of the Chattogram Anti-Terrorism Tribunal passed the order on Wednesday.

Public Prosecutor Monoranjan Das said that the court also fined them Tk 50,000 each.

Separate charges brought under the Explosives Act in connection with the same incident are still pending in a different court.
