Bodies of teacher-couple found in a private car

Gacha police have recovered the bodies of a teacher-couple from inside a private car in Nimtali Hydrabad Bridge area of the district on Thursday morning.

Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (Crime South) Mohammad Iltutmish said the deceased were identified as Ziaur Rahman Mamun, Headmaster of Shaheed Smriti School in Tongi and his wife Mahmuda Akhter Jolly, Assistant Teacher of Amjad Ali School.

It is known that after school at 6:20 in the evening, the teacher couple left for home in Kamarjuri area. But since then there was no trace of them. Even after searching all night, no trace of them was found.

Early in the morning, they were rescued from the car from the Hydrabad Bridge area and were first taken to Tayrunnecha Medical College Hospital and later to a hospital in Uttara, where on duty doctors declared them dead.

They did not return home on Wednesday from workplaces.
