Shops must close at 8 pm, restaurants at 10 pm from September 1

In Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) areas, all stores, malls, cooking markets, and other commercial and business facilities must close by 8 o'clock.

According to a statement from the city corporation, the DSCC's decision will take effect on September 1.

Restaurants, food preparation centres and stores will close at 10 p.m., but food delivery will be open until 11 p.m.

By 11 p.m., all entertainment venues, including movie theaters, will be closed. General drug stores will close by midnight. By 2am, all hospital-affiliated pharmacies should be shut down.

These decisions have been taken with a view to saving electricity considering the ongoing situation.
