Former election commissioner Mahbub Talukdar no more

Former Election Commissioner (EC) Mahbub Talukdar has passed away on Wednesday afternoon while undergoing treatment at United Hospital in the capital.

His daughter Irene Mahbub confirmed to The Daily Samakal that her father breathed his last around 1pm.

Irene said, “My father fell ill around 12 o'clock on Wednesday. He was taken to United Hospital. The doctors said that he suffered a massive heart attack. Then he died around 1 pm.”

Mahbub Talukdar, who was discussed at various times in the Election Commission, has been suffering from cancer for a long time.
