6 burnt in fire originated from leak in gas line in Keraniganj

In Keraniganj upazila of the Dhaka district early this morning, six members of a family—including two children—were burned  in a fire that is thought to have been started by a gas leak.

They are - Musamat Begum (60), her daughter Sonia Akhter (26), Sonia's daughter Maryam Akhter (8), Begum's grandsons Shahadat Hossain (20) and Yachin (12) and Panna Begum (50).

They were brought to the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.

According to Partha Sanker Paul, a resident surgeon at the burn center, all of them are in severe condition and have burns that range from 23 to 60 percent of their bodies.
