Tradeshi selected as BD partner of Alibaba

Local company Tradeshi (Simura Non-wovens Joint Venture) has been selected as Alibaba.com’s Global Service Partner for Bangladesh, reports the UNB.

 

Tradeshi will help develop digital export marketing capabilities of Bangladeshi enterprises, whilst developing Alibaba.com’s online channel for Bangladesh.

 

Pioneers of Jack Ma's proposed electronic World Trade Platform (e-WTP)

 

They will be available for seminars and workshops across the country educating business associations and chambers of commerce on digital export marketing & e-commerce.

 

Tradeshi is also expected to launch an association for existing Bangladesh-based Alibaba.com Gold suppliers. 

 

The e-WTP is envisaged by Ma to ‘better connect small and medium enterprises through logistics and inclusive financing’.

 

The platform is meant to supplement the WTO (World Trade Organisation), which has traditionally ‘benefited large corporations and multinationals, or the top 20%’. Ma's proposed e-WTP's purpose is to help ‘the 80% of companies and developing countries that cannot participate in world trade’.

 

On behalf of Tradeshi, Shadab Parvez, founder and managing director, Rajib Hossain, chairman and Clarissa Tan Hossain, financial controller, were present at the e-WTP conference.
