BPDB to set up new power plant in Khulna

Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) will set up a new power plant in Khulna area to meet the electricity need of the region, reports the BSS.

 

The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) on Wednesday gave the nod to the Khulna 200-300 MW Combined Cycle (Duel Fuel) Power Plant Construction Project.

 

Finance Minister AMA Muhith chaired the meeting held at the cabinet division.

 

"As per approval, the consortium of Harbin Electric International Company Limited and Jiangsu Etern Company Limited will jointly construct the power plant at a cost of about Taka 2,370.14 crore," additional secretary of Cabinet Division Mustafizur Rahman told newsmen after the meeting.
