Bill Winters, Group Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank came to Bangladesh for a two-day visit on Tuesday, reports the UNB.
During his stay in Dhaka, he met the Minister of Finance, AMA Muhith, Governor of Bangladesh Bank Fazle Kabir, key clients, thought leaders and opinion makers.
During his meetings, he discussed his refreshed strategy to lead Standard Chartered forward in all 72 countries the Bank currently operates in. He also shared his thoughts on the Bangladesh franchise of the Bank and how the group will keep driving investments in this market, to serve its clients and stakeholders better.
This was his first visit to Bangladesh after being appointed the Group Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank. Bill was accompanied on this visit by Ajay Kanwal, Regional CEO-ASEAN and South Asia, Standard Chartered Bank.

Bill Winters was appointed to the Board of Standard Chartered PLC as Group Chief Executive on 10 June 2015, having joined the Group in May 2015. Based in London, he has had a distinguished career in banking, having spent 26 years with JP Morgan in diverse leadership roles, becoming Co-Chief Executive Officer of the investment bank in 2004 until he stepped down in 2009.
