Bourses witness gain on Wednesday

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed gain in share price indices on Wednesday, the fourth day of trade week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 20.83 points or 0.37 percent to stand at 5625.83 points at the end of trading.

However, the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) shed over 0.05 points or 0.004 percent to stand at 1313.14 points.

The DS30 index, also gain over 7.49 points or 0.36 percent to stand at 2033.45 points.

Trade deals stood at 187,462 with transaction over Tk 13091.54 million. Of the issues traded, 139 advanced, 137 declined and 52 remained unchanged.

The Baraka Power Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 568.45 million having changed hands.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, rose over 27.23 points to stand at 10566.42 points.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 110 gained, 111 declined and 34 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 803.20 million.
