Bourses see loss Monday after 3 holidays

The benchmark indices of the country’s bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange - witnessed loss on Monday after three days of holidays.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 28.30 points and 0.49 percent to stand at 5697.93 at the end of the day’s trading.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) shed over 4.76 points or 0.36 percent to stand at 1296.71 points.

However, the DS30 index, lose over 4.87 points or 0.23 percent to stand at 2071.79 points.

Trade deals stood at 121,372 with transaction at Tk 7771.53 million. Of the issues traded, 97 advanced, 189 declined and 39 remained unchanged.

The LankaBangla Finance Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 426.93 million having changed hands.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, s CSCX, the prime index, climbing down to 10711.17 by dropping over 47.30 points.

Out of the issues traded, 79 gained, 142 declined and 18 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 688.62 million.
