Global Mobile Broadband Forum begins in Bangkok

Today marked the start of the 13th Global Mobile Broadband Forum 2022 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The two-day conference with a 5G emphasis is hosted by Chinese technology behemoth Huawei. 

The opening session featured a talk on 5G leading the way by Ken Hu, Huawei's rotating chairman. 

According to him, 5G is developing twice as quickly as 4G and considerably more quickly than its predecessors. There are 700 million 5G users and more than 210 5G networks worldwide.

According to Ken Hu, 5G has brought forth new patterns of data consumption, such as HD videos (which account for 60% of all video views), short movies, online live streaming to tens of millions of viewers, and cloud phones. 

1.3 billion 5G devices in about 800 different types have been deployed so far in 2022.
